ADHD Testing and Management in Phoenix, AZ

ADHD, or attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, is a condition that typically originates in childhood and persists into adulthood. Recognizing the signs of ADHD and obtaining appropriate support are crucial for success in various aspects of life, including academics, work, and overall well-being. Common symptoms of ADHD often encompass difficulties with concentration, disorganization, challenges with time management, and underperformance in educational or professional settings. At Serenity Mental Health Centers, we acknowledge the significant impact ADHD can have on individuals, affecting their motivation and daily functioning. Our objective is to empower our Phoenix, AZ patients to regain control of their lives through personalized ADHD assessments, diagnostics, and tailored management strategies designed to suit their unique needs and lifestyles.

When establishing an ADHD diagnosis, our process starts with a comprehensive ADHD test, which may incorporate various assessments like the computer-based QbTest, in-depth discussions, and a thorough review of your medical background. Once a diagnosis is reached, we collaborate with you to explore the most appropriate treatment options tailored to your individual circumstances. Our objective is to assist our patients in reclaiming control over their lives, and this involves offering personalized treatment strategies aligned with their specific needs. Depending on your comprehensive medical history and mental health requirements, your treatment plan may include prescription medication, therapeutic interventions, or a combination of both to address your ADHD symptoms effectively.

Once you have completed ADHD testing and initiated a management plan, you can look forward to a better understanding of your condition and a customized plan designed to address your individual needs. The testing process typically involves a thorough evaluation, including interviews, questionnaires, and cognitive assessments, to ensure an accurate ADHD diagnosis. After the diagnosis, a personalized management plan will be formulated, which may consist of medication, behavioral therapy, lifestyle modifications, and educational support. Regular follow-up visits will be important to monitor your progress and make any necessary adjustments to your treatment strategy. By sticking to your management plan, you may see improvements in focus, reduced impulsivity, and enhanced organizational skills, leading to better overall functioning and quality of life.

Excellent experience. From the initial phone interview, filling out the intake paperwork, and the easy process of email reminders, the tech driven process at S.M.H.C turned what is usually a very sterile and boring procedure into a very comprehensive and informative one every step of the way. They even have an app! My clinician was understanding and provided me with a safe space to voice my concerns and was extremely helpful in structuring a treatment plan. I was reluctant to seek treatment and, as a result, went untreated for many years. Serenity Mental Health Centers, and specifically Brenda Sanchez, gave me everything I needed to realize how foolish it was to have waited so long. If you're on the fence about seeking Mental health services, or shopping for a good provider to switch to, let this be your sign.

Brenda Sanchez has helped me and my twin sister tremendously. She listens, then finds solutions. I struggle with depression, anxiety, and OCD. Since seeing her, I am now on a medication (which she made sure we were comfortable with), and this has changed my life. I can do normal human things that I couldn’t do before. Can’t be more thankful for Brenda and the team at Serenity for helping me.

This facility has changed my life for the better. Before coming here I was unable to function day to day due to anxiety and depression. With their help and a lot of hard work I now have productive days not only at home but in my work life as well. Tommy Butler has taken care of me so well, I still go to him despite my insurance being out of network, and that says a lot.

I’ve had a great history working with Jennifer madu—I’m not sure if I’d still be a patient at serenity if it weren’t for her. She’s very supportive but she tells it like it is and has really helped me with my mental health.

Candidates for ADHD testing and management are those who regularly exhibit symptoms such as inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity, which disrupt daily life or normal functioning. This includes children facing difficulties in school, like trouble focusing, staying organized, or following instructions, and adults who struggle with time management, restlessness, and maintaining focus in their personal or professional lives. When these behaviors are observed consistently over time and in different environments, ADHD testing is advised. Additionally, individuals with a family history of ADHD or related learning and attention issues are also strong candidates for assessment. Effective ADHD management usually involves a combination of behavioral therapy, lifestyle changes, and possibly medication, tailored to each individual’s specific needs.

How old do I need to be for ADHD testing?

ADHD testing typically commences at the age of six and above, although this may vary depending on the location and specific circumstances. While the condition is often identified during childhood, individuals of any age can undergo evaluation for ADHD.

Is medication the only treatment option for ADHD?

No, medication isn't the only treatment option. Behavioral and lifestyle adjustments can also be beneficial alongside other therapies like TMS therapy. Our team will collaborate with you to devise a treatment plan that aligns with your individual needs.

What is the difference between ADD and ADHD?

ADD is an outdated term that is sometimes used interchangeably with ADHD. Even if someone doesn't display symptoms of hyperactivity, the diagnosis would still be ADHD.
